I stumbled on an email I received on March 24 from a newsletter I subscribed to written by Yung Pueblo.

In the email was all the raw fact about what self-awareness is and its reshaping impact on an individual.

Evolving into consciousness

Self-awareness is a sub-niche of self-help but as interesting and motivating as it should be, a lot of writers and self-help coaches have made it quite boring.

Boring to the masses or specifically those who are just trying to find themselves in addition to being a better version of themselves.

In this article are major reason why you need self-awareness as an individual and I bet you’ve not even heard some of these points before. The last point is my favorite!

Quickly, without wasting your irredeemable time, I’ll go straight to my take home from that email

  1. Self-awareness teaches that the relationship you have with others is relative to what you have with yourself – implying that how you talk, react to or treat others is a function of who you truly are.

2. Self-awareness teaches that the way you struggle with imperfection is the way others do too – when you realize that humans are all imperfect, you tend to gravitate towards being compassionate and considerable to other people’s feelings and emotions.

3. Self-awareness helps you understand and appreciate other people’s perspective – My self-awareness process taught me that two truths can exist. You do not have to be rigid in your perspectives or ideologies. Learn from others too!

4. It becomes clearer to you that a lot of humans feels just the way you do when you understand how vast and deep your emotions are – The act of overthinking is for those who generally feel low of themselves.

A lot of people carry on their lives with the same thoughts and emotions as you do, so be easy on yourself and don’t beat yourself up for nothing.

5. If the concept of self-awareness brings regret to you, you’re doing something wrong. You should naturally learn from your imperfections rather than get stuck in it – Understanding and gaining consciousness of yourself helps you exist in the moment, it helps you plan better for your future and prevents you from getting stuck in regrets and guilt of the past that cannot be rectified.

6. When you come to terms with the ups and downs of your own life, Patience is learned, and peace is found.

7. Self-awareness produces authenticity and a sense of responsibility. It opens your eye to accountability and taking responsibility and accepting the consequences of your actions.

Cheers to growth!
